Earth Pets Charity, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit corporation operating in Gainesville, Florida.
Our mission is to help create a community where all pets enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of abuse and homelessness. We support this mission by providing funds and resources to local rescue groups and to good Samaritans who share our vision of a community where all pets are loved.

Earth Pets is proud to partner with the Canidae Pet Food Company to provide healthy diets for the dogs in the Paws on Parole program:  Paws on Parole is a partnership program between Alachua County Animal Services and the Florida Department of Corrections Gainesville Work Camp. The program’s main goal is to increase the adoption and retention rates of selected dogs at the Alachua County Animal Shelter. In addition, the program provides experience and education in dog care for inmates. 


Gainesville Pet Finder is the best place to start if you have LOST or FOUND a pet in or near Gainesville!  This exceptionally successful volunteer group provides a forum for communication between individuals, pet-related services (vets, groomers, pet sitters, etc...) and shelters who have lost or found a pet in the Gainesville or surrounding area with the goal of reuniting pets with their people.

Helping Hands Pet Rescue is a a non-profit organization in Gainesville dedicated to saving the lives of shelter dogs and cats.  They offer volunteer and foster care opportunities as well as wonderful pets for adoption.


No More Homeless Pets, Operation PetSnip is a high-volume, high-quality low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
The mission of No More Homeless Pets is to end the euthanasia of companion animals and feral cats through sterilization, education and community involvement.


Alachua County Animal Services serves the cities of Gainesville, Alachua, High Springs, Newberry, and Archer, as well as the smaller townships and surrounding unincorporated areas of the county. They handle domestic Animal Control issues, investigate animal neglect and cruelty, hold strays for owner reclaim, and adopt out unwanted animals. They also offer low-cost rabies vaccinations and microchipping to the public.


Joy Drawdy, co-owner of Earth Pets is also the original founder of Gainesville Pet Rescue, making this organization naturally one of our favorites!  Gainesville Pet Rescue, Inc. (GPR) is a not for profit organization that strives to match pets and people for a lifetime. All animals that are rescued and taken into the program are guaranteed a home regardless of the length of time they may have to stay in foster care. Since its inception in 1993, thousands of animals have been placed into loving, permanent homes.


Second Chance Farms is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary. They offer unwanted, abused, neglected and homeless critters of all species a second chance at having a healthy, happy and loving home.


Operation Catnip is a non-profit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the stray and feral cat population through a no-cost Trap-Neuter-Return program in Gainesville.


The Alachua County Humane Society is a non-profit 501-(3)c organization that strives to eliminate euthanasia of healthy, treatable cats and dogs in our community. ACHS is the lead agency of the Maddie's Pet Rescue of Alachua County.  This coalition has worked with Alachua County Animal Services to reduce the euthanasia rate from over 7,000 per year to under 3,000 per year.  The goal is to have 0 euthanasia by the end of 2015. 


Plenty of Pitbulls
is a group of volunteers working to help pit bull type dogs in Alachua County, Florida through rescue, adoption, and education.  They are an all-volunteer, ad hoc group of dog lovers working to help move homeless dogs from the county shelter into rescue, foster, and permanent homes and to advocate for pit bulls and dog rescue in our community. We support efforts of our county shelter and private no-kill rescue groups.


St. Francis House Pet Care Clinic in Gainesville provides free veterinary care to the pets of low-income people and offer owners free consultation about their animals' medical care.  This nonprofit group is made up of volunteer veterinarians, students in the Shelter Medicine program of the UF School of Veterinary Medicine, and community volunteers working together to make a little bit of difference.
